Bridging Borders: Vietnamese, Egyptian and Honduran Dentists Unite in Istanbul
The Advanced Implantology Course on Fresh Human Cadavers, organised in 2018 and 2019 with Ritter Implants.
In 2018 and 2019, Knightsbridge Academy, in collaboration with Ritter Implants, successfully delivered the Advanced Implantology Course on Fresh Human Cadavers at Medipol University Anatomy Lab, Istanbul. Conducted across two sessions, the programme trained four groups of international dentists, providing in-depth hands-on experience in advanced implant surgery. Led by Prof Dr Burak Demiralp, Prof Dr Burak Özçelik, and Dr Becen Demir, the course covered key techniques such as sinus lifting, soft tissue management, and bone grafting, ensuring participants gained confidence in complex surgical procedures.
The course attracted dentists from across the world, including professionals from Tunisia, Romania, Bulgaria, Germany, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Honduras, and Vietnam, making it a truly global training experience. With a structured cadaver-based approach, each group received individualised attention, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life surgical scenarios under expert supervision. The training not only enhanced participants’ surgical precision and clinical decision-making but also provided them with a unique opportunity to engage in an advanced, hands-on learning environment.
Beyond its educational value, the course was designed as a comprehensive professional experience, including accommodation and a formal gala dinner, fostering networking and knowledge exchange among peers. The success of these two editions, training four groups of dentists, reinforced Knightsbridge Academy’s commitment to high-quality professional training in implantology. While the programme was temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, its impact remains significant in advancing implant surgical education worldwide.
